I see you read Septimus Heap. I've read the first two books "Magyk" and "Physik". Pity I've never seen any bookstores sell the other few. Maybe you might be interested in Eoin Colfer's "Artemis Fowl" series. The age recommendation says that it's for teens aged 13~15 but you might as well ignore that.

You're also the first person I know (besides myself) who is interested in Norse Myth, especially their sagas and poems.
